As the leaves begin to change and the holiday season approaches, it’s time to embrace the spirit of giving.
We invite you to join us in-person Millsgiving Food Drive, taking place from Now through November 9th at The Mill Wilmington and The Mill Concord. The food drive will benefit the Food Bank of Delaware, and we would be delighted to have you with us to make a difference in the lives of Delawareans who are facing food insecurity.
This year, we are focusing on specific canned items to ensure we offer nutritious and essential choices for our neighbors in need. Canned goods are a staple in every pantry and play a vital role in providing sustenance for families in need.
We’re encouraging the donation of the following canned goods:
- Canned Soup, Stews, and other Complete Meals
- Canned Fruit
- Applesauce
- Pineapple
- Mixed Fruit (in own juice or light syrup)
- Canned Vegetables
- Corn
- Carrots
- Mixed Veggies
- Green Beans
- Peas
- Canned Meat (In Water)
- Tuna
- Chicken
- Salmon
- Turkey
- Canned Beans
- Kidney
- Black
- Pinto
- Chickpeas
Online Fundraiser: Turning Dollars into Meals
In addition to our canned food collection, we’ve also set up an online fundraiser to amplify our impact. Every dollar donated goes a long way when it comes to feeding those in need. For every $1 raised, the Food Bank of Delaware can provide 3 meals. This means that your financial contribution can have a profound effect on the well-being of families in our community.hrou
Please note, the Food Bank of Delaware cannot accept hard candy, lollipops, soda in cans and bottles, chocolate bars or pieces, gum and soft candy such as marshmallows, caramels, taffy, licorice, gummy items, savory snacks such as chips puffed cheese snacks, pork rinds and sweet snacks including cakes, cookies, donuts, ice cream, pastries and popsicles.
